Devoted to documenting some of the stupid songs that just appear in my brain throughout the day. I stress, only "some" songs ... I can't be logged on all day.

Horrible Paul Williams songs from that dreadful all-kids 30s mobster musical "Bugsy Malone." Remember that? Young Chachi and Jodie Foster singing and shooting whipped cream from kiddie machine guns? Ick.

Quite often and today is "Put Another Record On" from the ABACAB album by Genesis ... back in ... 81 or so? It's got this simple piano riff that sticks.

I was talking about worst songs of all time, now "Seasons in the Sun" is in my brain. "Wildfire" runs a close second.

Saturday, April 13, 2002
Lately it has been the overplayed song by Joe Jackson "Is he really going out with her" ... or is it "Is she really going out with him?" I've heard it a million times and can't remember. "Well, if my eyes don't deceive me there's something going on around here."
9:57 AM

Friday, April 05, 2002
Do you remember "Double Vision" by Foreigner? If not, you're lucky.
9:55 AM

Wednesday, February 27, 2002
Right now: "Blue Collar Man" by Styx (on the Pieces of Eight album?). It has this cool organ intro and I am a keyboard player after all. Also, Buddy Holly tunes because I just bought these thick black plastic frame glasses, and "If I Only Had a Brain" from "Wizard of Oz" because ... well, it's always there.

There was this Green Day tune as well lately, and the entire soundtrack from "Repo Man" because I watched it for the millionth time and decided it really is my favorite all time movie, with the best old-school punk sound track. I made the girls at work watch it. They were weirded out. Go figure.

This morning it was "Jesus is just alright with me?" Who was that? The Doobie Brothers? I always wondered why Jesus was "just alright" as opposed to really cool or something. That's like, "How are you?" "Oh ... just alright."

10:05 AM

Tuesday, November 13, 2001
THAT SUCKY SINATRA DITTY! "It's time for you ..." or whatever else it says in those Las Vegas ads. Don't be fooled folks. It sucks! It is not a song! It's a song fragment! It's sucked when it was recorded! It will always suck! That's why you never heard it before. Get it off my TV!
2:22 PM

Monday, November 12, 2001
Currently it's an old REM song that goes "Don't go back to Rockville ..." That's good because earlier today it was ABBA songs, and no one needs that.
11:16 AM

Thursday, November 08, 2001
Now it's the "Little Piggies" song on the Beatles "White Album." Go George (Harrison, that is).
11:17 AM

Wednesday, November 07, 2001
Today it was the theme whistle from "Lassie" which weirdly morphed into the plaintive plea, "Car 54 where are you?"
6:46 PM

Friday, November 02, 2001
Last couple of days it has been that super cool classical-flavored fake horn/string synth solo that John Paul Jones plays on "All of My Love," off Led Zeppelin's last real album, "In Through the Out Door." Is that esoteric or just dated?
2:18 PM

Monday, October 29, 2001
"Let's Drop the Big One Now," by Randy Newman ... for obvious reasons.
10:11 AM

Thursday, October 18, 2001
"Ring of Fire." Any version but mostly Johnny Cash and Stan Ridgway.

Wednesday, July 25, 2001
"The Ballad of Who Could Care Less" by Ben Folds Five, the group which led me to believe you could have a rock band without a guitarist ... i.e., Glitch. This was all brought on by a new song by Ben Folds I heard on 92.1 indy radio this morning.

"Kung Fu Robot Titties" ... coming soon from my band Glitch at Glitchville.com.

Pretty constant one: The songs from the musical version of Hamlet from Gilligan's Island. I say to be / or not to be / that is the question that I ask of me.

"The Sweater Song" by Weezer is always in my head. Is that really what it's called? Pull my string as I walk away.
5:15 PM

Surf Punks version of "We Live for the Sun," followed by an internal Surf Punks medley, because I love them so. Wooo wee oooh oooh oooh weee ohhh! Then of course, a pinch of "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror when we realized it was almost lunch already. Where did the morning go?
11:19 AM

Tuesday, July 17, 2001
Today's song: "Okie from Muskogee." Probably because I saw Monkeybone last night and its a real head-trip ... which reminds me that "We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee / We don't take no trips on LSD." Obvious connection.
4:42 PM

Friday, May 18, 2001
OK, here's the list of some songs in my head: "Norwegian Wood" (specifically: she told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh / I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath); "German Folk Song" (or whatever it is they call that demo tune on old Casio personal keyboards); "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" - I've always liked the messed up timing on the real version, and the everything in the Spike Jones version (for old-timers and real music freaks only).

Sorry again.

Friday, May 11, 2001
I'm very upset ... that's all. No good songs today except "Fernando" by Abba. Wait, that's not a good song ...
